Shrimp farming is becoming more and more popular and in order to achieve profitability as soon as possible， it is essential to include supplemental feeds to increase the productivity of shrimp. If one wants to be successful in shrimp farming， it is important to produce and operate with sustainable feeds. In order to maximize the sustainability of shrimp farming， it is necessary to adopt certain measures for ecological conservation. We have listed some of the following measures to ensure sustainability

1. Eco-friendly feeds

Wastes from nutrient metabolism and surplus feed lead to increased pollution levels in poorly managed shrimp farms. The waste generated from feed acts as a transport medium for certain microorganisms and produces toxins that prove to be harmful to fish.

Components such as non-protein nitrogen， sodium， crude fiber， and oxidized lipids should not be part of the feed.

2. Processing

To ensure proper utilization of the feed， the processing should include homogeneous mixing and micronization of the ingredients， taking into account the optimal conditions for pelleting. This process should also ensure that little or no contaminants are produced in the feed， taking into account the digestibility of the feed.

3. Size of feed pellets

It is important that the size of the feed pellet is appropriate for the digestibility of the growing fish. Sizes larger and smaller than the accepted feed size need to be screened and eliminated to avoid wasting food pellets. Sometimes， the addition of exogenous enzymes can help improve the digestibility of certain nutrients.

4. Shelf life

Storage of feeds for longer periods of time can affect their quality and biological value. The nature of the ingredients determines the shelf life of the feed.
