[Suzhou XITE Gas] What are the uses of nitrogen generators?

The advent of nitrogen generators has enhanced the modern outlook for laboratory nitrogen as it allows for in-situ gas generation. Reverent laboratories around the world have upgraded to this production and supply to a coherent version for LC-MS and GC applications. Are you still unaware of the wonders of this revolutionary masterpiece and want to learn more about its excellence? Here we can help you understand the advantages of switching to a highly efficient and hassle-free N2 generator.

The technology used

Nitrogen, which makes up 78% of the Earth's atmosphere, is a high-value gas with many properties that can be used in a variety of applications such as cutting, cleaning, cooling and freezing. This gas is produced in the laboratory by separating nitrogen molecules from other air molecules in a dry, clean stream of compressed air to extract pure nitrogen. They have implemented two technologies for this process.

PSA (Pressure Variable Adsorption).

They work by compressing the atmosphere through an air compressor and then filtering out dry air containing nitrogen and oxygen through a carbon molecular sieve (CMS) in the nitrogen generator. The carbon molecular sieve bed selectively adsorbs the larger oxygen molecules and discharges a concentrated purified nitrogen gas from the generator. Although these generators are fixed, it is possible to produce a large stream of purified nitrogen at a very affordable cost.

Membrane Nitrogen Generators

They are similar to the above models, but rely on a process of selective gas permeation. Here the compressed air is passed through a permeable membrane consisting of hollow fiber bundles. Various gas molecules pass through these fiber pores, where they are filtered and released back into the atmosphere according to the filtration rate. The nitrogen gas is trapped in the membrane and flows through the exit channel. The gas obtained is dehydrated, as water molecules permeate through, leaving a low dew point. This system has a limited capacity to produce a low purity gas. A few advantages include portability, and the fact that it requires very little maintenance and operating costs.

What are they used for?

Nitrogen generators are a boon to manufacturers who need in-house nitrogen production to improve production flexibility, purity, economy, etc. Some of the widespread applications in the industry are in the food and beverage industry. Nitrogen is a non-reactive gas that is an important alternative to chemical means of keeping food fresh for consumers. Nitrogen is added to food packaging to replace oxygen, prevent oxidation and stop the growth of bacteria and mold on the food. This also maintains the freshness of the food.

Laser cutting industry. N2 gas does not react with molten metals such as aluminum or carbon steel due to its inertness. Nitrogen lasers do not generate additional heat when vaporizing metal because they quickly move the vaporized metal away from the cutting edge before re-solidifying, creating a barrier between the hot metal and atmospheric oxygen, producing a uniform and cooler cut. Under the proper pressure, this process is accelerated. It is also suitable for annealed and reworked workpieces.

Tank cover. Nitrogen has good cooling and asphyxiating properties and is therefore used as a fire extinguisher and also to protect tanks from oxygen during transport. Nitrogen therefore acts as an inert cover for most products and prevents any contact with explosive gases.

Petrochemical industry. Most adhesives, chemicals and fuels become less prone to explosions in the presence of nitrogen. The gas cuts off the contact of oxygen with the product, preventing any untoward event from occurring.

Why are they more popular?

Nitrogen generators are a smarter choice because raw gas cylinders have a lot of overhead such as delivery, purchase fees, extra tanks, etc.

The professional advantage of such generators is on-demand supply, which means people can produce any gas they need in situ without having to worry about travel issues, reliability, leaks, etc.

Cost friendly: the huge costs of renting, paying taxes, purchasing, moving gas tanks, etc. are minimized.

Professional productivity: on-site power generation reduces gas waste due to transportation leaks.

Guaranteed quality: When it comes to purity, nothing beats internally generated gas. Concentration and purity levels can be regularly tailored to the different fields of application areas.

Safer working conditions. At low temperatures, nitrogen is very fragile and can cause asphyxiation. There is always a potential risk of exposure to nitrogen during transport of the tanks, so removing the tanks can professionally limit the safety and security of employees.

Reduce environmental concerns. By avoiding leaks, in-situ nitrogen production is highly sustainable and eco-friendly. Less energy is required compared to cryogenic tanks and moving costs, making the technology energy efficient.

Advantages of owning a field nitrogen generator (nitrogen generator):

Before using the nitrogen generation system on site, many enterprises in the industry have no choice but to buy nitrogen elsewhere. However, the use of on-site nitrogen generator can eliminate all the troubles related to bulk purchase of nitrogen. Our nitrogen generator is an option with the greatest benefit: the average cost of producing nitrogen by ourselves is one-third to one-half lower than the relevant cost of purchasing nitrogen. Using the on-site nitrogen generator system, there is no need to pay the freight when purchasing nitrogen. Our nitrogen generator system usually allows you to recover the cost within 18 months.

In addition to economy, the nitrogen generator system of the on-site nitrogen generator also provides:

Reliability - the nitrogen generator system, that is, the on-site nitrogen generator system, uses the surrounding air to generate nitrogen. Therefore, our customers never have to worry about the shortage of nitrogen. Reduce stress - improve safety through storage. Simple - we make it easy for people without relevant equipment experience. The visual touch screen control can control the stability of gas purity. At the same time, it can operate self diagnosis, visual operation diagram and maintenance plan reminder on the screen. Flexibility - our equipment is small and can be transported under various conditions, so as long as there is air and electricity, the equipment can operate stably anywhere. Fully automatic - once a downstream request is detected, production begins.

Why use XITE nitrogen generator?   Our nitrogen generator system provides reliable on-site nitrogen supply for various industries, which is famous in China and Southeast Asia. Our on-site nitrogen system can produce nitrogen with purity up to 99.999%. For our nitrogen generator, it can meet the nitrogen production in any place and any complex environment.
