[Suzhou XITE Gas] Types of nitrogen purging systems

Impurities, oxidation and unwanted vapors (or gases) can occur in many industrial manufacturing systems. The presence of these gases can create a hazardous or explosive environment within the system. Nitrogen purging is the safest way to eliminate any potentially damaging or threatening environment by using technology that uses inert nitrogen atmosphere.

Industries such as pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, and chemical industries integrate nitrogen purging processes as an important part of their day-to-day operations. Nitrogen purification systems are absolutely necessary where hazardous gases may be present and contaminated.

Nitrogen purging

Nitrogen purging is a successful method of replacing any hazardous gas, harmful steam, harmful oxygen or unnecessary moisture to ensure that the environment inside the equipment or system is dry.

Purging is a recognized way of using nitrogen. For example, there is a vapor space at the top of a tank filled with hydrocarbon liquids in which hydrocarbon vapors accumulate. When emptying the atmosphere tank, air is expelled and may be affected by friction or static electricity, which can easily ignite or explode. However, the function of the nitrogen purge system is to eliminate the vapor space containing nitrogen and thus prevent explosion hazards.

Nitrogen purge systems are ideal for absorbing or adsorbing absorbent substances. These substances include ethanol, glycerin, methanol, and concentrated sulfuric acid, lye or honey.

Advantages of nitrogen purging system

The main purpose of the nitrogen purge system is to purify the pipes and other components of the manufacturing process that can contain various contaminants. Nitrogen is a reliable inert gas which is economical and safe. The benefit of nitrogen purging is that it eliminates risks associated with unsafe elements, including oxygen. It creates a more stable, dry and safe environment. Depending on the nitrogen purging method used, nitrogen may flow at low or high pressure.

What are the different types of nitrogen purging systems?

There are four main processes for nitrogen purging, each of which requires different equipment. The four processes involved include:

Replacement purging

Diluted Purge

Pressure transfer of liquids

Pressure Maintaining Vacuum Process

Replacement purging

Manufacturing equipment with a basic cross-section design, such as piping, is ideal for displacement purging. Its working principle is to use an oil scraper piston (or pipe cleaner) which is driven by nitrogen pressure. When scratching the piston through the line, it removes unwanted material. The volume of the pipe determines the amount of nitrogen required to perform this task. Nitrogen and other materials can be separated using inert fluids without mixing (e.g. dilution).

Diluted Purge

Systems that are more complex than simple piping and equipment with cross sections are ideal for dilution and purification. An example of this includes a tower, reactor or kiln. Nitrogen is mixed with a specific gas that needs to be purged from the system. The mixture is purged from the inlet point to the outlet point. Focus on these two points. Dilution combined with the replacement of substances not required creates a more inert atmosphere.

Pressure transfer of liquids

In some cases, the aim is to move the fluid without using the pump. To achieve this, nitrogen is the best choice for pressurizing the headspace inside a vessel or system. This is particularly useful in situations where space is limited or where there is material that affects the efficiency of the pump. By using pressure transfer from liquids, the possibility of oxidation is significantly reduced.

Pressure Maintaining Vacuum Process

There may be situations that prevent nitrogen from removing harmful substances. In this case, the container is pressurized with nitrogen. This creates the conditions for dilution and then the substance is expelled from the body. Then repeat the holding vacuum process. This is an effective method for containers with only one opening. The amount of nitrogen required for this process depends on how many pressurized cleanings are required to reduce unnecessary contaminants to the required level.

Advantages of owning a field nitrogen generator (nitrogen generator):

Before using the nitrogen generation system on site, many enterprises in the industry have no choice but to buy nitrogen elsewhere. However, the use of on-site nitrogen generator can eliminate all the troubles related to bulk purchase of nitrogen. Our nitrogen generator is an option with the greatest benefit: the average cost of producing nitrogen by ourselves is one-third to one-half lower than the relevant cost of purchasing nitrogen. Using the on-site nitrogen generator system, there is no need to pay the freight when purchasing nitrogen. Our nitrogen generator system usually allows you to recover the cost within 18 months.

In addition to economy, the nitrogen generator system of the on-site nitrogen generator also provides:

Reliability - the nitrogen generator system, that is, the on-site nitrogen generator system, uses the surrounding air to generate nitrogen. Therefore, our customers never have to worry about the shortage of nitrogen. Reduce stress - improve safety through storage. Simple - we make it easy for people without relevant equipment experience. The visual touch screen control can control the stability of gas purity. At the same time, it can operate self diagnosis, visual operation diagram and maintenance plan reminder on the screen. Flexibility - our equipment is small and can be transported under various conditions, so as long as there is air and electricity, the equipment can operate stably anywhere. Fully automatic - once a downstream request is detected, production begins.

Why use XITE nitrogen generator?   Our nitrogen generator system provides reliable on-site nitrogen supply for various industries, which is famous in China and Southeast Asia. Our on-site nitrogen system can produce nitrogen with purity up to 99.999%. For our nitrogen generator, it can meet the nitrogen production in any place and any complex environment.
